7 Boreholes Commissioned to Serve Nkanu West, Enugu State.
7 Borehole Water Project – Obuoffia Community, Nkanu West, Enugu State
Pilgrims Africa Health Foundation
In response to the urgent need for safe and accessible water in underserved regions, Pilgrims Africa Health Foundation implemented a transformative 7 Borehole Water Project in Obuoffia community, Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State. This initiative, rooted in the Foundation’s commitment to advancing health, dignity, and community development, aims to improve access to clean water, reduce waterborne diseases, and enhance the overall quality of life for residents.
Obuoffia, like many rural communities in Nigeria, has long struggled with inadequate access to potable water, leading to health risks and daily hardships, particularly for women and children. The 7 strategically located boreholes now serve as a reliable source of clean water, benefitting thousands of residents and supporting critical needs such as hygiene, sanitation, and agriculture.
This project was made possible through the collaborative efforts of community leaders, local stakeholders, and the technical team at Pilgrims Africa Health Foundation. Beyond infrastructure, community members were engaged and trained in water management and borehole maintenance to ensure sustainability and local ownership.
By addressing a fundamental social determinant of health, this project not only quenches thirst but also restores dignity, promotes wellness, and paves the way for future development in Obuoffia and surrounding areas.
