SUMMARY:FREE HEALTH OUTREACH IN A COMMUNITY IN RIVERS STATE
DESCRIPTION:FREE HEALTH OUTREACH IN TEMA COMMUNITY\,\nASARI TORU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA. \nPeople in rural areas generally have less access to healthcare than their urban counterparts. Fewer medical practitioners\, medical health programs and healthcare facilities in these areas often mean less preventative care and longer response times in emergencies. The lack of healthcare workers has resulted in unconventional ways of delivering healthcare to rural dwellers. We at Pilgrims Africa Health Foundation believe that quality health care is a basic human right and therefore\, we intend to extend healthcare program to such rural areas in partnership with you as part of your implementation program for the health care program. \nLOGISTICS:\n1. Ambulance\n2. Volunteer movement\n3. Equipment\n4. Reagents\n5. Drugs/medicines\n6. Consumables\n7. Hotel accommodation\n8. Feeding\n9. Security\n10. Publicity/media\n11. Stationeries/other materials needs\n12. Local volunteer group\n13. Partnership with local providers \nAMBULANCE:\nNecessary to move drugs/medicines and consumables and some equipment to site. It is also needed as standby emergency response facility for the period. \nVOLUNTEERS:\nWe will mobilize and deploy our regular volunteers as well as recruit local support from the community. Our host will always make proper arrangement with the law enforcement agencies especially the police for the security of the volunteers and the entire team of people in the group as well as their materials. \nPUBLICITY:\nWe collaborate with the leadership of the community to mobilize the people and to have them participate in the activities. Towns unions\, church\, market men and women\, schools\, etc. will be contacted. \nThere will be billboards and or banners\, handbills\, flyers\, notifying the general public of the program. Materials will be printed to be distributed to participants. There will be radio jingles\, TV jingles and interviews. The event will be aired on radio\, TV and published in the newspapers. The social media will follow the activities. \nFinally\, the program will be published in the association’s magazine\, website and your organization will constitute a platinum partner to all our official events. Those with special prescription and those who need surgery will be relocated to hospitals. \nSPECIAL PROSTATE CARE FOR MEN:\nAll men 50 years and above will be screen by digital rectal examination and by PSA analysis for prostate health. Those who need further care will be referred to hospital. \nSPECIAL SCREENING/EXAMINATION FOR BREAST LUMPS\, CANCER OF THE BREAST AND CANCER OF THE CERVIX:\nAll female participants from the age of 20 will be screened for presence of breast lump. Above 40s will get additional check on their cervical health by the Pap smear examination.
